Part of our mission at Central Electric is making sure we are looking out for our members in every way possible, and one of those ways is making sure you are aware of programs that may be available to you.
North Carolina recently announced the opening of the N.C. Housing Opportunities and Prevention of Evictions (HOPE) Program. HOPE is an initiative of the NC Office of Recovery and Resiliency, a division of the North Carolina Department of Public Safety. The program aims to assist eligible low- and- moderate-income renters experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19 and seeks to promote housing stability during the ongoing pandemic by providing rent and utility assistance to prevent evictions and utility disconnections. [Important note: the grant program is only available for renters.]
Applications are now being accepted for the HOPE grant program. Grants are available for up to six months of past due rent and utility payments, and will be available to eligible participants as long as funds remain available.
Please note, this program is fully funded and operated through the N.C. state government. All information and questions related to the program or eligibility will need to directed to NC 211. Central Electric is unable to determine or verify your eligibility for the program. For information on eligibility, the application process or to apply for assistance, please visit https://nc211.org/hope/ or contact NC 211 by calling 2-1-1 from your phone.
